You Are Cordially Invited to the Wedding of Q & U

Exciting news.....Rose was recently in another wedding! Q & U got married and Rose was jubilant as the Mother of the lovely Bride, Miss U, in Mrs. Garcia's kindergarten - first grade class! It was a festive affair with the principal, Ms. Lerner officiating the ceremony. Mr. Q looked ever so handsome and Miss U was radiant! Vows were exchanged...."Mr. Q, do you take Miss U to form words like quick, quiet and quake? And Miss U, do you take Mr. Q to form words like square, squash and squiggle?" There was a band, a pianist who accompanied a soloist who sang "That's Amore" after the vows were exchanged, 2 pastry chefs handed out the delicious cake of heart shaped cookies for all the kids to enjoy. There was a flower girl, ring bearer, ushers, a guest book attendant, photographer, bridesmaids, groomsmen, fathers and mothers of the bride and groom, 2 guests who did readings.... very simply, a LOVELY affair. All the kids had a part in the ceremony. The reception immediately followed and the kids sang a song about "Q-U they're always a pair, make QU (kwa) sounds together, like squish, squash and square....." Then we all did the Hokey Pokey. The happy couple received gifts of quarters.

After the ceremony and cake, they had a little parade which included the last kid dragging empty tin cans. It was hysterical! I think Rose's teacher is the only one who does this ceremony at the school. They just did it in their classroom for us parents. It really should have been done for the entire school, it was that good. I love kindergarten!
