I'm so glad it's summer. The kids are having so much fun just playing with friends. This is really our last summer with no worries at all. Rose will start kindergarten in the fall, which is great, but that starts the YEARS of schooling we have in front of us. So this is a summer of absolute fun, and we have been taking advantage of it. We live in a great, kid friendly neighborhood. If you haven't been to our house, we live at the end of a cul-de-sac. The perfect spot for kids to ride bikes, play ball, run around....you name it. On any given day when all the neighbor kids are home, you will see 8-15 kids running around. All the kids play pretty well with each other...older and younger. Owen and Madeline (niece and nephew) live in the next neighborhood over and often come here to play as they know all the kids too. It's the neighborhood I wish I had grown up in, where kids are able to go house to house and every parent looks out for all the kids. The other evening the bigger kids took sidewalk chalk and drew a town in front of the house. It includes streets, a car wash, fast food drive through, gas station, grocery store, convenience store, you name it. Then they got on their bikes and big wheels and rode all around. They are all out driving the mean streets of Gaelyn Court as I write this. (I hear David has already received 3 tickets from the traffic cop.) Here are pictures from the other night.
