Joey Turns 4!!

Wow.... wasn't I JUST in the hospital having babies? How did my BABY ever get to 4? FOUR!!! As if we didn't have enough fun going on with Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Hanukkah......Joey turned 4 on December 7th, Pearl Harbor Day....night 7 of Hanukkah. Let's have another reason for presents! We celebrated three times, the night before, which was the last night of Grammy and Grandpa's visit, the following night on his actual birthday, then the following Saturday when in lieu of a party, we took him to Disneyland. (man....when will December end... and we still have Christmas coming!) He had a really great day. Andy, on the other hand, is looking for a part time job to supplement all the December festivities.

And as for Disneyland, we went with Helene and Joey was tall enough to get on every big ride. We had a BLAST.... we went on: Pirates of the Caribbean (twice), Splash Mountain, Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain, It's a Small World, Carousel, Buzz Light Year ride (whatever the real name is), Mr Toad's Wild Ride... I think that's all of them. The kids are all roller coaster lovers and we had a GREAT time... regardless of the crowds and lines.

8 Great Nights.....Hanukkah 2010

I would love to expound on the fabulousness of each holiday we have spent this year, but I'm so behind, I'll settle for posting some shots. My in-laws came out for Thanksgiving (which they spent with sis-in-law Randi and family) then we came home a few days later. We then had a great visit with them and switched to Hanukkah mode. We got to spend time with (Aunt) Helene, Randi, Brad and the oh SO cool cousin (nephew) Daniel. My kids just LOVE this time of year..... and why not? I recently heard my kids talking to Owen and Madeline about Hanukkah to which Owen said: "Man, I wish MY Dad was Jewish"!
See you next year, Hanukkah Harry!

Thanksgiving 2010

I figure I best get some pics up from Thanksgiving. All 5 Heffernan siblings converged in Oakland this year. Greg lives there and Dale lives about 45 minutes away. Mom made the drive up with the kids and myself and Andy flew up the night before. Rose actually flew up with the Bittners the night I drove as she was supposed to have her championship game for soccer, which ended up in a rain-out.

The short version of our stay:

Greg, Echo and Sean were fabulous hosts. They all gave up bedrooms for us. Echo is an excellent cook, so dinner was fantastic. We made a trip in to China Town with the kids one day, went to Muir Woods another, went to the Claremont Hotel for the tree lighting and to see Santa, ate, drank and were very merry. It was a really good week. Thanks for letting us come!

The Stockings Were Hung by the Chimney With Care

This fireplace and mantle have NEVER been this clean and void of toys since we moved in. I was so excited to have it clean and bare that we decided to light a fire.... something we have NEVER done! The kids are so intrigued with the whole concept they want to have a fire going at all times now. If only it were self cleaning. Perhaps I should have asked Santa for gas logs for Christmas.

And before you get on me....Rose wasn't too close to the fire, and I know I need a fire screen.

Soccer Star

Rose's first real soccer season has come to an end. The Golden Girls ended up being 1 of the 2 teams to beat in their league and came in second place. The championship game was cancelled due to rain.... so who knows if they would have been able to defeat the dreaded Blue Jays. Rose had a great time playing goalie, and an overall great experience. This may have been the first and last time she and Madeline are on the same organized team, but who knows. I think her experience was so good since she was already friends with so many girls on her team before teams were ever picked. Andy had a great time as coach too. He really enjoyed teaching all the girls, and secretly, I'm pretty sure he just loved being called "Coach." We'll see what she ends up doing next!
