May I present to you Rose's new soccer team, the Golden Girls! The girls had to come up with names for all to vote on. Rose suggested Golden Girls, and much to the chagrin of the one girl who continued to rally for Golden Tigers even after the vote went down, Golden Girls it is! (Much to the delight of my in-laws who LOVE the show, especially Paul) They have played 2 scrimmage games and 2 real games and so far are undefeated. Andy is playing the role of assistant coach and loves it. Much to our surprise, Rose has an affinity for playing goalie. One day at practice as she took her turn playing goalie, Andy told her to tackle the ball like it was one of her brothers. After that she has been a menace.... pouncing on the ball whenever it comes near her. I don't think she realizes she could just pick it up and heave it out of there! Anyway, we are really enjoying the experience as is Rose. By some good luck, she already knew half of the team when she showed up for the first practice. We requested to be with cousin Madeline, but turns out she is friends with many others from school. I'm so glad she is loving it.
