Stone Soup.

Happy Wednesday. I'm off to pick Rose up from preschool shortly then a fun trip to Costco. I always amaze myself how well I can pack a cart with 2 or 3 kids sitting in it! What a SUPERGREAT life I have.....trips to Costco, school, Wal-Mart...... who WOULDN'T envy my days?! Anyway, I digress. Today Rose is making Stone Soup in class for their Thanksgiving Feast on Friday. They read a book on Monday about a traveling boy who stops at an old lady's house for some food. She claims not to have any to which he asks for a stone so he can make stone soup. She gives him one and asks him how he will make it. Long story short, he tricks her into adding additional ingredients into the bubbling pot of water and stone to make it a little bit better. In the end they feast on the delicious soup, then he goes on his way with the stone in pocket to cook more soup another day. Rose's teacher, Mrs. Martin, will take the soup home to cook it then they will eat it on Friday. Perhaps this might be a way to get Rose to try soup!

My in-laws get here Friday afternoon for 10 days. We will do Thanksgiving dinner at my sister-in-law's house. Beats having to cook all day and clean all night for about 5 minutes worth of sitting to eat and enjoy the day. We are looking forward to their visit. The kids LOVE when they are here. They gets loads of play time with Grandma and Grandpa. Now....if I can just get the house clean!

Off to pick up Rose!
